Jeannie's News & Notes:
(1) You will note that on my latest deviations, I have adopted a new strategy to attempt to deal with the massive influx of mail I am receiving in all my accounts. It's such an honor to receive so much appreciation for my works, and I am very sad that I will have to slow down with my responses a bit. Alas, I could spend entire days and weeks to comments, replies, thank yous, etc. I will do my best to continue to comment back, I really will, but it might not always be possible to respond to every single comment always. But please know that whether I respond or not, I am still reading everything that everyone says. ![]()
(2) For all of my teenage friends, I want to pass along a link that I think would be especially beneficial for you to visit: TeenInk.com This is a published magazine, as well as a website, that is dedicated exclusively to the artwork, photography, and writing of teenagers. I used to be a die-hard fan of the magazine when I was in high school, and went every month to the Guidance Counseling office to get my copy. Now, they are online and in print.
Anyhow, I was published in this magazine- both writing and photography- so I can speak from personal experience and say they do publish real teenagers. I know being a teen artist is not always easy and getting publications to take you seriously can seem like an impossible task. So I pass this link along and tell you all that I really believe in what this magazine is doing...and I think you should submit your work to them.
Good luck, all!
(3) Quite a few people have commented or e-mailed to say that they too would love to do weekly or monthly features, but they do not have a dA subscription and this is stopping them. So I wanted to take a minute to point out that I do not believe there is any reason that you necessitate a subscription to do a Feature. Here's how I work my Features:
*Everyday when I check deviations, I open a document and note the thumbnail #s for any photographs I feel are far superior and would fit beautifully into one of my weekly features.
*I then save this document (obviously), and add to it each time that I check deviations. Over time, I develop a massive list.
*On the day I wish to author my feature, I simply cut and paste the thumbnail numbers into a new journal and then "Preview" and rearrange the images so that they flow properly and don't look a mess.
--If you are unable to get a thumbnail # quickly without a subscription, all you need to do is this: Paste the URL link for any deviations you wish to feature. DELETE THE ENTIRE URL EXCEPT FOR THE # AT THE END OF THE DEVIATION. For example:
"My_Fair_Lady_by_Jeannieblue_456789" should become simply "456789".
All you need to do now is add ":thumbnail" before the number (without a space) and then ":" behind the number.
Without spaces, you will now have:
: thumbnail456789 :
It's that easy, kids!
I hate to see anyone NOT constructing features if they truly want to, because there are so many wonderful deviations that should be featured. So if a lack of a subscription is the only thing stopping you, don't let it!

(5) I am also beginning work on a News Feature that I will call "Priority Male", an array of images of male models. Since some people (*coughcough*) seem to feel that I am spotlighting images of female models far too often. ![]()
(6) I just discovered that I am Member of the Week @ The Heart: [link] This was a total shock and surprise, and has tickled me pink. Go check it out! ![]()
